Private Residence 2
The owners purchased this Squirrel Hill foursquare house because they were attracted to its location and size. However, they didn’t like the first floor’s segmented layout and desired a space that was contemporary yet respectful of the house’s architectural character.
Our design removed walls to open the space, creating the impression that the area is much larger than its 650 square feet.

Since walls were removed, structural beams were needed for support. A shelf covers the structural element and its cove lighting provides ambient light that also makes the ceiling appear to be higher.
