On April 1, 2005, Cool Space Locator honored True Café & Bartini as a “Cool Space” in the first ever Cool Space Awards. The mission of the Cool Space Awards is to celebrate and highlight the cool spaces in the Pittsburgh region while creating excitement that encourages more adaptive reuse of urban locations.

True Café was considered to be a Cool Space thanks to the owner’s vision and the architect’s design of an “urban oasis” where people could enjoy gathering in a city neighborhood in the process of reinventing itself.

True Café & Bartini was one of 107 entries submitted for the awards program.
