Two homes featuring renovations designed by Peter Margittai Architects will be showcased during two upcoming House Tours.
On September 10th, guests participating on the Mexican War Streets House & Garden Tour can tour a private residence on Resaca Place. Here, guests will see how the owners downsized from their 5,000 square foot suburban home into this 2,500 square foot house that was 145-years old. Instead of building an addition, Peter Margittai Architect worked with the owners to reconfigure the existing space into a more efficient layout with individual areas serving multiple purposes. This home also features a private rooftop deck and courtyard.
On Sunday, October 8th, guests participating on the Shadyside House Tour can tour a private residence on Saint James Street that features the renovation of a large basement space to include a luxury bathroom with steam shower, a laundry area, and a mud room. “The owners wanted these rooms to reflect the quality and aesthetics of the rest of the rooms in the house,” explained Peter Margittai.
For this home, Peter Margittai Architect also designed a private rooftop terrace where the homeowners can enjoy the views of their garden and Oakland.
