March 2006
In March 2006, Peter Margittai Architect won the 12th Annual Superior Interiors Design Awards (Architectural Residences — Under 3,500 square feet.)
For the winning project, Margittai combined two rooms into one large, open area for cooking, dining and entertaining. The design features custom built-in cabinets, a dynamic contrast of materials, a “cooking couple” layout, and a back wall with “floating” shelves.
The judges thought it was an enviable kitchen. They commented: “‘It’s really interesting and would be a great space to have.’ ‘It has a big ‘wow’ factor.’ ‘It’s absolutely stunning.’”
The 12th Annual Superior Interiors Design Awards competition was judged by members of the Cleveland chapters of AIA (American Institute of Architects) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
The project was built by R.W. Ripley & Sons Construction, and the custom cabinetry was made by Works in Wood.
